E-Waste Management Program

E-waste is collected from households, businesses, and electronic manufacturers through drop-off centers, collection events, or specialized recycling programs.

Upon collection, e-waste is sorted into different categories based on type and material composition. This step helps prepare the items for proper recycling and disposal.

Electronics are disassembled to separate reusable components and hazardous materials. This process often involves removing batteries, circuit boards, and other valuable parts for recycling.

Recyclable materials such as metals, plastics, and glass are processed to extract valuable resources. This can include shredding, melting, or refining processes to recover materials like gold, copper, and rare earth metals.

Hazardous components such as lead, mercury, and cadmium are treated using specialized techniques to minimize environmental and health risks. These materials are often safely extracted and disposed of according to regulatory guidelines.

Any remaining materials that cannot be recycled are disposed of in environmentally responsible ways, such as through landfilling or waste-to-energy facilities.
